About the Project
FORGEFIBER is an adidas brand technology and a patented process that utilizes TPU coated thread. The thread is stitched and forged with heat into a stretch base to create variable properties of integrated support, stretch, and reinforcement.
FORGEFIBER is driven by athlete insight and targeted at specific movements.
The result is a composite upper with integrated strength that maintains breathability, flexibility, and fit often compromised by conventional laminated footwear constructions. This additive process is an automated balance of efficiency and sustainability, using less to do more.
The visual identity is a result of the process and functionality. This is also expressed in the collaborative effort for the logo and graphic identity with the adidas Brand Design team: Damien Webb, Ed Baigrie, and Chris Erickson.
